Whitney ElkingtonLPC

I enjoy working with people from ages 16 and up. I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bushnell (formerly Northwest Christian University). My approach to therapy is a mixture of humanist person-centered philosophy and strengths-based interviewing with a heavy dash of Mindfulness Based Cognitive therapy. That means I appreciate the opportunity to work with my clients to intentionally recognize and practice skills, strengths, and capacity they may be unaware they have to reach deeper quality of life. I collaborate with individuals to uncover personal meaning while trying out new practices and solutions to help them discover and connect with their most authentic selves. I have experience working with family caregivers, life transitions, managing chronic pain, grief and loss, building and practicing self-compassion, and mindful emotion regulation and distress tolerance. In my free time, I like reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family (both two-legged and four-legged).
