How do I get started with Services?

The easiest way to get started is to give us a call at 541-255-1411. With everything that has been going on in the world, the mental health field has been inundated with people seeking services. We have a wait list but are working hard to get through it swiftly. If you would rather complete your inquiry online, use the online submission option and we will contact you upon receipt.

Do I need a referral to begin services?

No! We accept referrals but If you would like to begin services with us, all you have to do is give us a call or submit a message on our online form.

What kind of support do I need? How do I know what services are right for me?

Determining what kind of support you need can be a challenge, but we are here to help. Your first person of contact is usually Betsy at our front desk. Betsy will help you decide which therapist might be the best fit for you. We strive to get it right on the first try but when you schedule your intake, the therapist might help decide if there is someone on staff who would work better with your needs.

What if I am unsure if I need to seek out services?

Give us a call or send in an online submission and we can do our best to give you information that may be helpful for you.

What can I expect if I have never been to therapy?

There is some paperwork to start. After the initial collection of information and paperwork you will meet with your clinician. The clinician will talk about their theory of change and answer any questions you may have. We complete an assessment and ask what you are hoping to achieve from therapy, set goals, and take a mental health history, and discuss a diagnosis that you feel fits you.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

You will meet with your provider and together, you will complete an assessment and discuss what it is that you are hoping to get from services here.

What do I do if my partner is unwilling to come to therapy?

We can’t force someone to come to therapy if they are unwilling to do so. We can, however, still provide support to the person who is interested in therapy and explore what changes you want to make on an individual level. We can provide you with tools for better communication and establishing boundaries. You never know, sometimes the partner sees you attending therapy and finds it less threatening for them to join.

What do I do if my child is unwilling to come to therapy?

Again, we can’t force anyone to go to therapy. It is a good assumption that you, as the parent, may need some support. We have clinicians on staff that can provide emotional support, help with parenting, distress tolerance skills and a safe place to vent.

What if I am already on medication or think I need to be on medication?

We have psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners who can work with you to find the right medication. Our providers always do an initial evaluation to make sure you are getting the best treatment possible. If you are already on medication, we are happy to discuss that with the provider before scheduling.

Can I do therapy online or on the phone?

Yes, we offer teletherapy video sessions and emergency phone sessions as needed. We like to see our clients in person, but video sessions are a good alternative for those who need them. We offer teletherapy through a variety of platforms including our EHR AdvancedMD, Zoom, and Doxy.me.

What if I am having an emergency and need to talk to someone immediately?

If you are in imminent danger and do not feel that you can keep yourself safe, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We have included a list of hotlines that utilize voice and text. You can also reach out to the White Bird Crisis line at 541-687-4000/1-800-422-7558.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Life happens, things come up, and we try to be flexible. We do ask you to cancel 24 hours before your appointment via phone call, voicemail, or email. Cancelation with less than 24 hours notice is subject to a fee.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! We accept Trillium, OHP/Open Card, Pacific Source Commercial, Pacific Source CCO, Moda, Providence, Regence, Cigna, Optum and Aetna.

What if I do not have insurance?

Please contact us for our out-of-pocket charges. If you do not have insurance we encourage you to sign up with Medicaid through the state of Oregon. If you do not meet the income requirements, we will refer you to organizations that provide low cost and sliding scale options.
