Master Graduate Therapy Intern
No matter the concern that brings clients to Bridges, they will be met with counseling care built on authenticity, curiosity, and compassion. My approach is rooted in narrative therapy, grief therapy, and relational cultural theory: together, these frameworks allow for personalized meaning-making in difficult circumstances and the opportunity to build a favorite self, rather than a best self determined by external values or expectations.
As a follower of post-structuralist theory, I believe that knowledge is power. I’m big on providing psychoeducation as a result, and often bring in information from sociolinguistics, anthropology, biology, history, and other areas to supplement our conversations. In addition to being a Counselor-in-Training at Oregon State University, I’m a Certified Body Trust® Specialist and a Sexual Health Alliance-certified Sex Educator and Sex Coach & Consultant. My approach to every client is informed by my work in fat acceptance, disability justice, and liberatory practice as a whole.
I’m here to learn and grow as a counselor. I feel comfortable with the queer/LGBTQIA+ community, people in larger bodies, those with chronic pain or illness, alternative lifestyles and sexualities, and people with eating disorders or disordered eating habits, ADHD, depression, and/or anxiety, but I’m eager to broaden my clinical scope of practice as well.
